The Universe Sends Signals: Are You Listening?

Nate Langley, a transformational life coach and breathwork practitioner, believes that the Universe constantly sends us messages, especially when something in our lives needs to change. We spoke about how, if you ignore these signals, they can manifest as physical illness. Nate shared his own experience of being sick from black mold without realizing it, highlighting how the body can give you a wake-up call that’s impossible to ignore.

Facing Unresolved Trauma

Through his journey to heal from black mold exposure, Nate realized his physical illness was deeply connected to unresolved childhood trauma. After witnessing abuse growing up, he had buried his emotional pain for years. Only when his body began to break down did he recognize the importance of addressing his mental and emotional health alongside his physical well-being.

The Mind-Gut-Heart Connection

Nate and I dove into the profound link between the mind, gut, and heart. While the mind-gut connection is often discussed in holistic health, Nate emphasized that the heart plays an equally crucial role. When we align all three, we can hear that “good voice” inside ourselves—the one guiding us toward healing and positive life choices. According to Nate, this alignment is key to living a fulfilled and healthy life.

Learning Storytelling as My Intern

It was great to reminisce about when Nate was my intern back in 2008 when I was an executive producer for a morning show. He shared how that experience shaped his understanding of storytelling, a skill that has carried over into his career today as a coach and content creator.

The Maturation of Communication

We touched on the concept of "maturation of communication" in relationships, especially with partners. Nate pointed out that it’s okay—and sometimes necessary—to take a time out. This perspective of giving space can help us communicate more effectively and build stronger connections.

The Struggles of Content Creation

We also discussed the struggles that come with creating content, particularly when you’re trying to build a community. Nate spoke about the frustrations of growth but reminded us that it’s more important to attract the right people. After all, as creators, we’re not for everyone—and that’s perfectly okay.

Using Humor to Cope with Bullying

Nate opened up about his experience with childhood bullying and how it led him to develop a comedic persona as a defense mechanism. Humor became a tool to deal with the pain, but it also shaped his personality and approach to life.
